Alexander Lopez Guerra
was born in Peru in 1995. His first contact with dance was through urban dance styles such as hip hop. It captivated him and made him see dance as a path that leads to change.
He received his training at the Escuela de Ballet San Marcos in Lima, Peru, after which he danced with the Ballet San Marcos under the direction of Vera Stastny and with the Cuban choreographer Pepe Hevia. Lopez's interest in choreography took him to Barcelona, Spain to study at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza del Instituto del Teatro. A year later, he joined the young company IT Dansa at the Instituto del Teatro under the direction of Catherine Allard. He has performed works by Crystal Pite, Akram Khan, Alexander Ekman, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Ohad Naharin. He joined the ensemble of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch in 2020.
