Maxi Sophie Mäder
Soprano Maxi Sophie Mäder is a student in Prof. Kai Wessel's class at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Cologne. She first started taking singing lessons at the age of nine. In 2010 she became a member of the Young Academy Rostock network and sang in the class of Prof. Heidrun Warczak. As a young student at Rostock University of Music and Theatre she joined Martina Rüping's class in 2015 and remained there until her graduation. In February 2021, Maxi successfully completed her Bachelor of Music and has since continued her education with a Master of Music Theatre at the Hochschule in Cologne.
While still a student, Maxi already performed on stage and took on her first operatic roles, singing Sirene and Donna in the Rostock university production of Handel's Rinaldo. As a member of the inter-university ensemble “Operation der Künste“, she sang the first child-spirit in Mozart's The Magic Flute in 2019 and made her debut as Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro the following year. In the 2019/2020 season, Maxi joined the opera chorus of Theater Vorpommern as a guest singer, performing in the theatre’s production of Verdi's Il Trovatore.
Maxi has performed as a soloist in various concerts, including in Bach's Christmas Oratorio and Reformation Cantata, as well as in Mendelssohn-Bartholdy's Psalm 42, “Wie der Hirsch schreit”.
