Dance for the children and young people of today and tomorrow

With SEARCHING & FINDING, initiated in 2019/20, the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch continues its creative learning programme and expands it to include a range of new formats suitable for schools and organisations working with young people.

In this scaled-down current season we are developing digital resources for students and teachers who have been hit hard by homeschooling, cancelled lessons and the suspension of sports clubs and after-school activities. We are aiming to encourage young people to start dancing at home and will also share links to other institutions offering interesting activities.

Please visit our website regularly for more information.

Between April and June, we hope to make many more projects happen live, working with school groups to help compensate for the lack of movement so many young people have experienced during lockdown. Dance classes, site-specific projects in school playgrounds and public spaces, and a flagship project led by Jorge Puerta Armenta are currently being planned.

The Tanztheater Wuppertal would like to continue building partnerships with schools, museums, cultural institutions and social enterprises all over the city, in order to introduce Pina Bausch’s work to children and young people and share her unique and deeply human view of the world we live in.

School year 2021/2022
