Maik Solbach

studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna and had his first engagement at the Vienna Burgtheater when he was still a student. From there he moved to the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus, where in 2000 he was named “newcomer of the year” for NRW. Engagements at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspielhaus Zurich and Schauspiel Cologne followed. He also performed as a guest artist at the Volksbühne Berlin, Schaubühne Berlin, Salzburg Festival, Vienna Festwochen, Bavarian State Opera, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Berliner Ensemble and, once more, at the Burgtheater. He has worked with renowned directors including Karin Henke, Jürgen Gosch, Matthias Hartmann, Sebastian Kreyer, Sebastian Nübling, William Forsythe, Antonio Latella, Frank Hoffmann, Herbert Fritsch and Katie Mitchell.

In 2018/2019 Maik Solbach appeared in “Ariadne auf Naxos” (directed by Katie Mitchell) at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris.

He also works on productions for film and television.
